Tally Prime + Fintroller

How It Works

Tally Prime has a built-in data server that lets other software read your books over your office network. Fintroller uses this to pull your ledgers, vouchers, and trial balance data directly — the same way Tally's own remote access works, but fully automated.

Everything happens on your local network. Your financial data never touches the internet or any cloud service.

What Fintroller Reads From Tally

• Ledger masters — all account names, groups, and balances
• Vouchers — sales, purchases, receipts, payments, journals
• Stock items — inventory data for matching against invoices
• Trial balance — for nightly audit verification
• Outstanding bills — receivables and payables aging

Setup in 4 Steps

1. Enable Tally's data server — In Tally Prime, press F12 → Data Configuration → set "Allow ODBC Connectivity" to Yes.
2. Note your Tally machine's name or IP — This is the computer where Tally is running.
3. Configure Fintroller — Enter the machine address and your company name in Fintroller's settings.
4. Verify and sync — Fintroller tests the connection and starts reading your data for automated reconciliation.

What Gets Automated

Once connected, Fintroller automatically:

• Reconciles your Tally books against GSTR-2B from the GST portal
• Flags mismatched invoices with exact amounts and invoice numbers
• Generates reconciliation reports ready for review
• Runs nightly 9-point audits against your Tally data
• Prepares TDS returns (Form 26Q) from your Tally voucher data

Your Data Stays With You

Fintroller runs on your machine and talks to Tally over your office network. Your financial data never leaves your network — no cloud uploads, no third-party access. This is fundamentally different from cloud-based tools that require uploading your company data to someone else's servers.
